How to change the colors of the drawing star

This tutorial is for Nodekit versions 0.7.4 and above.

When drawing in Tagtool an indicator 'star' points to where the pen tip meets the drawing pad. The star changes color to indicate the color selected with the sliders. Both the fill color and border color are changed to match sliders. Because of this the star can get 'lost' in areas with lots of the same current color choice. If we change either the fill or border to another contrasting color we can make the star stand out against the backgound.

To change border color:
  • Alt-F out of fullscreen to be able to pull up Nodekit.
  • Find the star node located in the middle of the node patches.

  • Click on the border connection line (turns yellow) and verify it connects to HSV Color.

  • Delete that connection by pulling it away from the node point and letting go - it will cut. If you don't delete the connection it will keeping taking input from sliders.

  • Click on border values and a color picker will appear. Choose color (I chose white).

  • Alt-F back to fullscreen and test border color change (I changed star to 6 sided also).

To change fill color

Same thing as border color change but change fill values instead.

To change both colors

Do both of the steps above but realize that your star will no longer match color selection.
